Now

Hi! Here is a page of things I'm currently exploring.
Hopefully, I'll be updating this page regularly, maybe once a week.

Last update: 2026 April 18

Meaning

Recently I started listening a podcast "In search for meaning" (russian-speaking). It explores the gradual loss of meaning in the western civilization due to the move to a more technological advancement.

It goes quite far back into the history, touching ancient Greek's vocabulary that we use today, the Age of Enlightenment and what happened there, 400 years ago, that shaped our current time.

I want to start making notes based on the statements in the podcast, my own thoughts and discussions with my friends, attempting to criticize or agree with author's position, which is somewhat controversial.

System

After the PKM Summit 2026 (hello fellow gardeners), I'm extremely inspired to put more effort into my personal knowledge system in obsidian.

First significant insight is that my top-down and bottom-up approaches are not connecting anywhere in the middle. I'm more of a gardener than I thought, yet it's not directing my structure. My actual notes are scattered and not connected to any structure. My structure is just an empty backbone of how I thought I would organize knowledge, but I never did follow it.

Second significant insight is that people are actually at the core of the reason I do this all, and yet I never thought of involving anybody in my system, and didn't involve much in other's. I decided to juxtapose it on my head. I realized, that people are not only the end goal of this, but also a tool to make this all work (further elaboration on this will follow). I want to get motivated by doing it with people, instead of doing it for people (and never publishing anything).

The way forward is this exact Digital Garden. And the digital gardening accountability group, that we started at the Summit. Hello again for those from the group reading that!

The most important components of this exercise to me are: imperfection by design, repeptitive routine, and publicity without expectation.
I believe that all of that will help me to think more and better, challenging my vulnerabilities in a healthier way.

AI in PKM

Inspired by Martijn's Theta OS, I started to consider the use of AI in my workflow, including pkm. I lack trust in big tech companies, to let them read and analyze my notes, but even more I'm concerned about the hidden implications of outsourcing mental efforts to the machine. I have some ideas about that already that I'm willing to write down and share here. I agree that the Age of AI is here, but I want to be more conscious about how I actually implement it into my life.

Consciousness

In the beginning of May I'll be joining the "Philosophy Club" meeting in Amsterdam (also russian-speaking, sorry), and the topic of this edition would be the "hard problem" of consciousness. I'll read and analyze a few selected works of Chalmers, Searle, Nagel and Dennet, and try to formalize my own understanding of what subjective experience is, and why it's important and interesting to try and understand the mechanisms of it.

Plan is to make notes on each author and any other sources, and a note with my own take on it.

Music

I play guitar, and recentlye and my friend (also a guitarist) agreed that we will do 2 covers together: both playing a rhythm and a solo part of song song of choice. No deadlines for that, and we also need to figure out the amp setup, but probably we'll do some progress by the end of March.

Money

Looking at my spending excel sheet, trying to understand how to save and spend more consciously.
Recently categorized my spendings to figure out a number per category, to understand as-is situation.
The next step is to pick a number that I'll "save" each month, and create a list of things and purposes I'm saving for.
The step after is researching better investment options and box 3 taxes in the Netherlands.

Life

Recently I finished a renovation of my new rental apartment, and now am in the process of picking the furniture. I don't rush it, as I already have the basic pieces in place, and for the rest I really hope to find some interesting (not from IKEA), but we'll see. Maybe I'll share some nice findings here as well.
I also want to zone my studio's kitchenlivingroom into multiple areas for different "mind states", like working, resting, and hobbying. Probably need to check the Pinterest for inspiration, and finally talk with my qualified interior designer friend.

As I write this from a very cute cafe full of plants in Tbilisi, I'm also happy to add that I have quite a few adventures planned for this spring. Maybe I'll share some more about that too!
